Student Outcomes

The board is focused on what matters for kids: literacy, math, English proficiency, and readiness for what comes next. The work now is to keep the focus, demand the implementation plan, and account honestly for the kids still being missed, especially our English Language Learners and Black students in math. Teachers and paraeducators are the ones delivering this work, and they need real curriculum, training, and time.
A District Families Choose

San Francisco can be a city where families stay, raise their kids, and choose public school on purpose. That requires an assignment system worth understanding, schools families can trust at every level, and a cradle-to-college pathway that holds together. It also requires holding onto our educators, because stable teaching teams are part of what makes a school worth choosing. Public school should be a values statement.
Equity in Practice

Equity has to live inside the classroom, in the budget, and in the day-to-day experience of every student. That means disaggregating outcomes, naming who we are failing and why, putting resources where the gaps are, and making sure the schools serving the highest-need students have the staffing and educator support to actually meet those needs.
Accountability
and Transparency

SFUSD is in a fiscal crisis, and families deserve direct questions. What are we paying for, and who is it helping? Where were the errors made? What are we basing changes on? Transparency builds trust with families and educators, and that trust is what makes hard decisions sustainable.
Access for Every Family

High-quality constituent service is the core job of a board member. That means being present in school communities across the city, being reachable when families and educators have something to say, and bringing what I hear back into how I vote.
